Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The tag has different questions attached. It's sometimes attached to questions with html id's and I also found other cases where it was interpreted as Intrusion Detection System. The tag has no wiki.

if it's a real shortname for 'Intrusion Detection System', we should alias it to the intrusion-detection tag, otherwise we just need to remove it. – Wouter J Mar 17 '13 at 14:47
Of the 8 FAQ questions tagged, 7 of them refer to some kind of ID, one refers to intrusion detection. I would recommend removing it – EECOLOR Mar 17 '13 at 15:00
Scrolling through the list of questions, most of them refer to some kind of ID, even if it should mean intrusion detection, it will be used wrongly. – EECOLOR Mar 17 '13 at 15:03
I (and possibly others) went through the tag. Retagged all the questions that were about intrusion detection. [ids] can be nuked, the remaining uses are useless. – Mat Mar 17 '13 at 16:09
