Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I see a new footer style, but the CC-Wiki logo is trying to escape from the footer.

Can we fix this? Or it is by design?

Apart from this, nice new footer! The categories are really useful. – Camil Staps Apr 22 '13 at 10:23
This is almost certainly by design. – Daniel Daranas Apr 22 '13 at 10:24
@DanielDaranas Why? It does not seem to happen on SO or other SX sites or their metas. – N.N. Apr 22 '13 at 10:35
Actually, it looks pretty nice to me. 99% by design, but if it's not then I hope they don't "fix" it. – Adnan Apr 22 '13 at 10:38
IMO it needs a tiny bit of white space below the text so it's not right up against the browser chrome. – George Duckett Apr 22 '13 at 10:39
@GeorgeDuckett what browser still has chrome at the bottom? besides, the whilespace should be the same gray as the footer, not random white bleeding in from the rest of the design. – Ben Brocka Apr 22 '13 at 11:24
@BenBrock: I'm on chrome and there is white below the grey already (as in the screenshot above) so IMO it's not "random". Ok, maybe browser chrome is the wrong words, basically it's touching the windows start bar. :) – George Duckett Apr 22 '13 at 11:38
We have a footer? – Grant Thomas Apr 22 '13 at 12:40
@Mr.Disappointment - Yeh we have :) – hims056 Apr 22 '13 at 12:40
Noooooooo. MY PRETTY SQUARES! How will I find sites by color now!? – animuson Apr 22 '13 at 14:20

No, not intentional...

I completely missed this as our dev and local environments has some additional stuff in the footer (just a drop-down that lets us switch site themes). This obscured the CSS issue, so I only saw it now.

I just pushed a fix.

Is this why meta went offline for a second here? – Manishearth Apr 22 '13 at 11:50
@Manishearth - Probably - a redeploy would do that. – Oded Apr 22 '13 at 11:52
Thank you for changing a footer style. Anyone can find an appropriate site easily now. – hims056 Apr 22 '13 at 11:53
@Oded: Ah. -1 for blowing up meta :P – Manishearth Apr 22 '13 at 11:55
While you're at it, there's no category called "Other" so the "more" under OTHER points to which just redirect to (all sites). – Shadow Wizard Apr 22 '13 at 11:55
@ShaWizDowArd - True enough. Shouldn't be there. – Oded Apr 22 '13 at 11:56
@Manishearth - No more deploys for you. You can stay on the old and inferior code base ;) – Oded Apr 22 '13 at 12:02
@ShaWizDowArd - sorted. – Oded Apr 22 '13 at 14:19
Cheers, no more "more"! – Shadow Wizard Apr 22 '13 at 14:52
Are the little colored boxes gone for good? I kind of like those as a visual cue. (I can post this as a separate question if you think it's a big enough deal to discuss.) – Bill the Lizard Apr 22 '13 at 14:54
@BilltheLizard - Yeah, the new design did away with them. – Oded Apr 22 '13 at 17:19

That's caused due to the flair being floated. Adding overflow: hidden to the #footer, or a clearfix can solve the issue.

Though, I'm not sure that it is an issue, it does look nice.
