Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The tag is currently ambigous - while the tag wiki states it's for the component, there are some questions like this which instead refer to a genome association analysis toolset. What about one of the following:

  1. rename the current tag to and leave for the genome tool
  2. leave as it is and declare the genome tool questions off-topic - there's http://biology.stackexchange.com, though their faq currently doesn't clearly state whether software questions are on-topic (maybe as a subset of "questions about techniques in a biological or biochemical laboratory")

I removed my answer, but to answer your last question, No, I'd not say that the Genome software is on topic on SO. – Time Traveling Bobby Apr 29 '13 at 8:32

It's more appropriate on biostars.org but its not part of the stackexchange network. – Manetheran Mar 16 '14 at 11:07
