Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The last two days (since the flag-bug to be exact) I noticed a delay of about 3 seconds when reviewing late answers, but only right before an audit which makes it easy to guess.

Is there a reason for the delay? Or maybe, am I the only one who sees this effect?

I feel like I have felt this delay in all the review queues before an audit – FDinoff May 24 '13 at 2:48
No, not me. I see the delay just in "Late Answers". – Linus Caldwell May 24 '13 at 2:55
it's a hint to pass the audit :p – Azik May 24 '13 at 4:51

Nice catch, this query was taking way too long, and making audits obvious to anyone paying attention.

We've deployed some optimizations to the SQL query, so hopefully this is fixed now.

Yes, seems to be fixed. Thanx! – Linus Caldwell Jun 3 '13 at 21:21
Shoot. Now I can't spot the audits without thinking. – Undo Jun 3 '13 at 22:01
"making audits obvious to anyone paying attention." -- I though audits were supposed to be obvious? – Jan Dvorak Jun 4 '13 at 4:54
