I should hope not. The employer wouldn't want the application to change in the middle of the process. – Juhana May 27 '13 at 5:23
Stackoverflow is displaying my application. Can't i update my cover letter also? In that case, why should i not delete my application. There is no option for that as well. – user10 May 27 '13 at 13:09

I have used the career site as an employer. Whenever an application came in via email, I saved the application to a folder on my computer. Any changes on the site itself would have gone unnoticed, and email notifications of changes/deletions would have been extremely annoying.

No doubt some employers use the service differently, but this is how I did it.

You should think of leaving an application the same as mailing them on paper or by email. Once you've sent it you can't take it back. You wouldn't usually re-send your application with a new cover letter, or inform the employer that you'd like to withdraw the application before they've contacted you back, right?

A workaround to not being able to withdraw the application: if you get invited to an interview, tell them you're not available for the job anymore.
