Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I am sure a lot of developers/ system admins/ power users have a use for CMS such as Drupal or Joomla, but it seems that there is no proper place for it. CMS is a part of programming (developers), a part of configuration ( that's system admin job) and some web design.

What do you think?

Same places WordPress questions go: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/18941/… – random Sep 2 '09 at 5:51

I think that they should go where they belong:

  • Programming a CMS plugin: SO
  • Setting up Apache to use Drupal: SF
  • How to write a template for a CMS: SO (or, gasp, doctype)
  • How to use certain CMS to write content: SU

I'm sure you can generalize from here :-)

If you don't know where to ask because you don't know what it'll require, I think SU is the place to start. It'll soon enough get moved where it belongs.
