Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

This is (e.g.) my profile in Opera 12.16:

Other gravatars are also affected, but not in SE Chat.

When I copy the image URL, I get

Chrome retrieves the image, no problem, but Opera says:

Edit In the interest of meta overflow a screenie taken in Chat, clearly demonstrating that chat displays the avatars fine, but not when oneboxing...

I'm not fully aware of what online certificate validation (OCSP) is, but it sounds like something worth investigating?

Verified in Opera Version 12.15 Build 1748. – hjpotter92 Oct 16 '13 at 9:08
OCSP errors are often because of network glitches (the certificate issuer's OCSP server not responding in time). Opera doesn't retest the same site for 24h, so the glitches may seem a bit more persistent than they actually are (there's a way to bypass that limit, but I don't remember the details right now). – Yannis Oct 16 '13 at 9:12
@Yannis I think it has been at least 2 days now. I'll keep you posted, though – sehe Oct 16 '13 at 9:19
This is also reproducible in Firefox – Braiam Oct 16 '13 at 18:17
@Braiam can you confirm this is also an issue for e.g. github (if you use gravatar there)? I think it's time to look at (added Firefox to the title) – sehe Oct 16 '13 at 18:20
yeah, github is dead too – Braiam Oct 16 '13 at 18:22
@JoshC opera isn't the only one. – Braiam Oct 16 '13 at 18:25
@Braiam seems to have been resolved now (on Opera at least) – sehe Oct 23 '13 at 1:07
