Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I would like to suggest a synonym request for and . Initially when I saw the tag it did not have a tag wiki. So, I provided one for it, but later realized that, it not much different from as many of the questions refer to "text" as "plain text" and vice versa.

Can we have these 2 merged or something like that?!

@ben - Thanks for the title edit. This is my first synonym request! Much appreciated:) – R.J Nov 1 '13 at 7:40
I don't know if the edit's good R.J., it's just more specific. Your previous title could have applied to any question; so, I changed it so it applies to just this one. Your title should always be specific rather than vague, both here and on SO... – ben is uǝq backwards Nov 1 '13 at 7:44
Unfortunately, I think text is too broad to merge/synonymize. We would need to filter out the inapplicable question and retag them manually. – Emrakul Nov 1 '13 at 7:45
