So does Area51 but not Discuss Area51 –  juergen d Dec 6 '13 at 7:32

Area 51 uses an old, heavily modified version of Stack Exchange. This is probably why. Don't take my word for it. –  Emrakul Dec 6 '13 at 7:46

@Emracool. And Discuss Area51 does not? –  juergen d Dec 6 '13 at 7:48

@juergend Area 51 Discussions uses rev 2013.12.6.1206 (same as Stack Overflow and probably the other sites), Area 51 uses rev 2013.12.2.190, Stack Exchange uses rev 2013.12.6.740 –  Stijn Dec 6 '13 at 8:49

And then there's askubuntu –  3ventic Dec 6 '13 at 13:08

@3ventic - see Why does Ask Ubuntu have a special Top Bar? –  Wikis Dec 6 '13 at 14:34

@Wikis Thanks, although, I was already aware of the reasons –  3ventic Dec 6 '13 at 14:40

It will be, just haven't gotten there yet. Implementing it on other code bases is trickier and involves some duplication. We want to make sure it's exactly how we want it on the main Q&A engine before duplicating anything to the other sites, as that potentially means fixing n things rather than 1 down the road. Also, there are a few APIs and such to build.

Was just about to put a feature request in for the new top bar on StackExchange. Glad to hear it's in progress. –  Kazark Feb 13 at 0:34

Waiting for MSE first? –  Shadow Wizard Feb 27 at 22:40

@ShadowWizard Not really. The developer who was going to work on it ended up doing the "your communities" editing first and then got put on bug duty for the next week. –  Jeremy T Feb 27 at 23:04

@JeremyT Anna, yeah... thanks for the update. By the way, why did you crop your name, if I might ask? :) –  Shadow Wizard Feb 27 at 23:08

@ShadowWizard Google result management :) Stack exchange has such high rep that all of my answers were pushing everything else about me down in the results. –  Jeremy T Feb 27 at 23:12

@Jeremy that's the first time I hear of such a reason but it actually makes perfect sense, lol... anyway will be glad to hear update when a dev is assigned to work on what Nick said above. :-) –  Shadow Wizard Feb 27 at 23:17
