Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

This question already has an answer here:

On Stack Overflow we can raise a flag on an inappropriate comment or post. What if an user has an inappropriate user picture or name? "Inappropriate" being derogatory, rude, racially demeaning, defamatory, etc.

Is there a way to flag or report this?

Flag a question/answer/comment by such a user for moderator attention as "Other".

Explain you are flagging due to their name/avatar/about me section being offensive to you.

If you cannot find any post of this user, use the contact us link at the footer of each page to inform Stack Exchange staff - linking to their profile.

Thanks. One more thing: what if the user changed his/ her user name (to a "good" one) after someone has reported and then some time in the future he / she decides to change it back to the inappropriate name? – Unheilig Dec 22 '13 at 18:23
@Unheilig moderators can see history of display names, if they see repeated pattern they'll deal with the user. (warnings, then eventually suspension) – Shadow Wizard Dec 22 '13 at 18:54
@ShadowWizard Thanks, happy holidays. – Unheilig Dec 22 '13 at 18:55
@Unheilig no holidays for me but cheers anyway! :-) – Shadow Wizard Dec 22 '13 at 18:55
