Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

On StackOverflow the rich formatting bar disappeared. I tried refreshing my cache but that did not work. It works fine on meta.

windows xp, firefox 3.5. it appeared 3 or 4 hours ago – marcgg Sep 15 '09 at 20:19
"3 or 4 hours ago". Is it okay now, or do you still have the problem? – Joel Coehoorn Sep 15 '09 at 20:23
You can never format Rich! – Ólafur Waage Sep 15 '09 at 20:31
I still have the problem. I tried in IE7 and it breaks as well. Cleared the cache again and still nothing – marcgg Sep 15 '09 at 20:51
Does it work using Firefox' Safe Mode? – Ladybug Killer Sep 16 '09 at 7:48

It came back suddently today with no intervention on my end. It wasn't working yesterday and it got back up today after the night. I have no clue of what happened

I can't accept my answer but this is the answer – marcgg Sep 16 '09 at 15:45
You would still have to wait 2 days to self-accept. – random Sep 16 '09 at 15:48

Do you have NoScript installed? The formatting bar disappears for me if I block

No. I have firebug and stylish (but no styles defined and I had it for a while now) – marcgg Sep 15 '09 at 20:50

No other reports of this from any other users.

I see you've tried this in both IE and Firefox.

Are you behind a proxy / firewall that is blocking or otherwise interfering with normal HTTP traffic?

No proxy, no firewall aside the windows firewall but it shouldn't block things like that. I'll try this from home tonight to see if that's my user or my machine – marcgg Sep 16 '09 at 15:33
