Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I'm pretty sure FireFox works on Linux, too. What's your point? – Ladybug Killer Sep 23 '09 at 14:26
@John Smithers: Cute... there is a difference between a Browser and a notifier. I am looking for an icon that would pop on the top panel when there is a state change on my SO account. – jldupont Sep 23 '09 at 14:32
When you float in a feature-request, build it with some tinnies and craft it so that it will be bouyant for someone to step on. In other words, have some steak and chips with it. – random Sep 23 '09 at 14:32
There is an envelope next to your name, Jean-Lou. And a notifier bar above it. Again I think these work on Linux, too. – Ladybug Killer Sep 24 '09 at 8:25
I am talking about an OSD Notifier based application. – jldupont Oct 4 '09 at 11:19

Apparently, they do not poll the /user/{id}/recent page. You can still feature-request this, however, on the respective project pages. :)
