Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I was looking at an old question of mine, to which I've already accepted an answer. I discovered that unaccepting an answer, then accepting it again right away granted me 2 rep! This only works once per answer.

I don't know if a rep recalc will clear that rep gain or not.

I can't seem to replicate this on MSO. – Troggy Oct 8 '09 at 18:48

Was the old accepted answer your answer, and new accepted answer someone else's? – Joel Coehoorn Oct 8 '09 at 19:10

It was not my answer. I just tried it again with a different question and it failed. I also noticed that one of my rep gains from this bug disappeared, but one of them is still there. See stackoverflow.com/questions/308/… for a working example. – EndangeredMassa Oct 8 '09 at 21:14

Here's an answer you can test with.
