What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 122 Stack Exchange communities.

I happen to like the <kbd> tag for showing when keys should be pressed, but I can never remember it on the very few occasions that it would actually be useful. Having it in the help file would meant that I don't need to find another question that has the tag in use, and try to copy it.

I know that some people do crazy things with this tag ;-), but in general I think that it is useful.

I went to the markdown help page all ready to post a haughty reply with freehand circles, and discovered much to my surprise that indeed this tag is not mentioned. Bravo sir! –  Ether Jan 23 '10 at 22:10

Be careful. If it was widely publicised we'd have the same situation on the other sites that we have here on meta meta.stackexchange.com/questions/1939/… –  ChrisF Jan 23 '10 at 22:12

@ChrisF: You could have that problem, but I doubt that you really would. That thread was a special I think, as per the comment on this answer: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/1939/… –  Paul Wagland Jan 23 '10 at 22:21

It's in the FAQ along with the other tags SOFU allows: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/1777/… And that FAQ topic is already linked to from Editing Help. –  Shog9 Jan 24 '10 at 1:58

I laugh uncontrollably every time I see Pesto's castle creation. But, this would definitely be of use on Super User. –  Jarrod Dixon Jan 24 '10 at 10:42
