Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Make comments from original poster stand out. Use different light background color than white. Like what happens with accepted answers.

The poster's name already appears in a different style.

I disagree. There are already too many colored backgrounds on questions. There's a background for the OP's question signature, for signatures on any answers the OP posted, and for any comments the OP might have authored. And also for tags.

It's all just too much. I'd rather see more superfluous lines and boxes.

Oooh - rounded corners! rounded corners! – user27414 Feb 5 '10 at 3:56
Freehand circles around OP's comments! Freehand circles! – Adam Davis Feb 5 '10 at 3:58
Um...Philosophy! If the circles are generated programticly, are they still freehand? – dmckee Feb 5 '10 at 4:24
Maybe you could crowdsource the drawing of the freehand circles, a little like re-captcha? – David Hall Feb 5 '10 at 4:31
@David: Now we're cooking with gas, my friend. That is a very soul of The American Can Do Spirit! Which I note that we have out sourced to a bunch of Kiwis. ::sigh:: – dmckee Feb 5 '10 at 4:36
Simply put OP next to all applicable paraphernalia. Problem solved. See here. – Lee Sleek Jun 13 '13 at 2:44
