I want a Stack Overflow wallpaper to be set as my desktop background. Is there a collection of Stack Overflow wallpapers?

It looks like a good way to show the interest to people in answering questions on Stack Overflow.

The only correct SO wallpaper is an Active Desktop one pointing on the site, and refreshing questions every 15 seconds. –  Gnoupi Feb 11 '10 at 10:29

The instant Unicornify can render larger images than 128x128, I'll build beautiful Unicorn wallpapers. stackoverflow.com/users/recent/187606 –  Pëkka Feb 11 '10 at 16:19

@Pekka: For the Chief Marketing Officer you have been for the unicorns, I'd even make you a large one :) –  balpha Feb 11 '10 at 19:53

@balpha Great! :) For a wallpaper, I'd need a unicorn that is completely in view (no clipping). A clipped rainbow or horizon I can clone. An unclipped view of the topmost one in your twitter background picture a1.twimg.com/profile_background_images/72729688/twitbg.png would be great. –  Pëkka Feb 11 '10 at 20:15

Anyone know what caused this question to return a blank page? –  William Hilsum Apr 27 '10 at 15:28

@Gnoupi: Now that's an awesome idea. With a simple script you could create a static wallpaper which reflects information, like the current reputation...I think I'll try to write such a thing. –  Time Traveling Bobby Sep 17 '10 at 11:02

@Gnoupi the correct refresh time is 90 seconds - anything less over time will get you in trouble with Jeff and the main page is cached for that long anyway. –  Joel Coehoorn Sep 17 '10 at 17:03

If these were 1680x1050 they would be on my desktop SO FAST –  Phoshi Apr 27 '10 at 11:58

@SeanJA your wish is my command. 1920x1200 done. –  Pëkka Apr 27 '10 at 13:36

@Phoshi 1680x1050 done. –  Pëkka Apr 27 '10 at 13:36

Awesome; thanks for the 1920x1200s. Any chance of getting some with other unicorns on them? Three monitors with the same unicorn is a bit boring :-P. –  James McNellis Apr 27 '10 at 13:45

@James I'll ask balpha for some more Unicorns, but it may take a while until I get around to it. I'll post updates here. –  Pëkka Apr 27 '10 at 14:22

This is a version 4 unicorn anyway (note that the legs are somewhat static); the newer ones look a lot more dynamic. –  balpha Apr 27 '10 at 18:15

@balpha great stuff! Can you send me a few specimens when you get around to it? No hurry though. –  Pëkka Apr 27 '10 at 18:29

@Pekka: Awesome, thanks <3 –  Phoshi Apr 28 '10 at 10:56

@gre you need to use one of the full resolution versions, though, of course. –  Pëkka Apr 27 '10 at 18:35
