Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The new SO mods should be added to the page on SO and MSO.

Meta's own Tom Ritter is not even on there. – random Feb 15 '10 at 4:11
@random Good call. I didn't even notice that. – jjnguy Feb 15 '10 at 4:34

I propose to change it so that current moderators are listed automatically instead of a static webpage (as it appears to be the case).

Otherwise we'll have the same problem next time there are new moderators.

The only problem is that it puts way more stress on the server to dynamically create that page. The mods don't change often enough for that. – jjnguy Feb 14 '10 at 22:58
Hey guys, how about having our cake and eating it, too. Just set up a cronjob to keep the page up-to-date. – ЯegDwight Feb 14 '10 at 23:56
@Justin: and it is also almost never seen. – Andreas Bonini Feb 15 '10 at 2:26
@Justin - I can't see how it'd be much of a strain - it's not static now anyway (e.g. rep scores look up-to-date), and as @Koper says, I imagine the view count is very low. – Dominic Rodger Feb 15 '10 at 10:07
@Dominic Technically the page is static, but the user flair that gets called is dynamic. But, you all have valid points. I just thing that making the whole page dynamic is a waste of time. I'd rather have them work on building an API. – jjnguy Feb 15 '10 at 15:11
As you predicted, we have the same problem now that there are new moderators:… – Kip Mar 29 '10 at 17:38
