Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The ability to make text flow around images would be a nice touch!

any updates on how this can be achieved? – 0sh May 15 '12 at 23:42

The align attribute is deprecated, and is not allowed at all in, which is the DTD which sites in the Stack Overflow family use.

In that DTD, the allowed attributes for image are as follows:

  %attrs; -- %coreattrs, %i18n, %events --
src %URI; #REQUIRED -- URI of image to embed --
  alt %Text; #REQUIRED -- short description --
longdesc %URI; #IMPLIED -- link to long description
                                          (complements alt) --
name CDATA #IMPLIED -- name of image for scripting --
  height %Length; #IMPLIED -- override height --
  width %Length; #IMPLIED -- override width --
  usemap %URI; #IMPLIED -- use client-side image map --
  ismap (ismap) #IMPLIED -- use server-side image map --

We'd better use something else if we want to do this.

Transformation is already taking place, so <img align="right" src="..."> could become <div style="float: right;"><img ... /></div>, for example. – Greg Bacon Feb 23 '10 at 18:46
