I thought it'd be fixed by now...but it's not

Google is the only site that sends me any sort of traffic.

  • 95.2% Google
  • 1.85% AOL
  • 1.33% "Search"
  • .51% ASK.com
  • .44% Bing
  • .30% Yahoo(with 89.74% of the hits going towards my blog)
  • .26% Yandex

Is it just me or is everyone else seeing such a huge discrepancy?

From my blog I get these figures:

google 96.82%
bing 2.47%
yahoo 0.30%
other 0.41%

From my stack exchange site I get these:

google 98.81%
bing 0.65%
yahoo 0.00%
other 0.54%

So by my experiance your figures don't look that unsuprising. You should note that until Beta 6 of stack exchange was implemented Yahoo was effectivly blocked, which would explain why most of their hits go to your blog.

I think that's simply today's reality, everywhere: Google is a Monopoly, and the majority of Search engine traffic comes from it.

Check out this blog post from Coding Horror confirming it.
