Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 155 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

All day I've been getting notifications that I have "1 new answer". But my recent activities page doesn't show anything new (other than a couple of comment responses on answers I've posted).

I've checked all my questions (it's a short list) and there aren't any new-and-deleted answers on any of them. There is a CW question whose answer got edited a couple of times today.

So maybe I'm not familiar enough with question-asking; do answer edits re-notify the question asker? Or is this a bug in the notification system? Or is something else going on?

"do answer edits re-notify the question asker" No. At least they didn't so far. – balpha Mar 19 '10 at 17:43
@balpha: thx. i didn't think so, but it's the only "working-by-design" explanation i can think of. – quack quixote Mar 19 '10 at 17:50
I can imagine it's on purpose, though. It would make some sense. Then again, it should also appear on the recent activity page in that case. – balpha Mar 19 '10 at 17:52
maybe this is related to:… .. but if so i can't find the edit. – quack quixote Mar 19 '10 at 17:59
well maybe if someone SENT US AN EMAIL we could contact you – Jeff Atwood Mar 24 '10 at 11:53
this is likely a duplicate of… ... haven't seen this crop up again and expect if i do it won't have the same cause. – quack quixote Mar 26 '10 at 17:01
