What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 134 Stack Exchange communities.

This site is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions, real wrath of God type stuff.

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies!

Rivers and seas boiling!

Forty yearsSix to eight weeks of darkness!

Earthquakes, volcanoes...

The dead closed on hold questions rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...

Mass hysteria!

I already live with two dogs and six cats, so I'm not too concerned. –  raven Mar 19 '10 at 20:41

+1 for the ghostbusters reference. –  Locutus Mar 19 '10 at 20:46

All this rep whoring won't save you, even these new questions are getting the rep-hammer too! –  Gnome Mar 19 '10 at 21:02

+1, or more accurately, +0.5 –  user27414 Mar 19 '10 at 21:25

@~quack - Ha! I see you haven't reached the upper echelons of Advanced Reputation Whoring XII. You see, I reached my rep cap early today, but most of that rep was for a question. By posting another question I'm shoring up my rep so I still hit the cap, despite losing half my question rep. Booyah! –  Adam Davis Mar 19 '10 at 21:32

...and... umm... where are they? –  quack quixote Mar 19 '10 at 21:37

I love this plan. I'm excited to be a part of it. –  squillman Mar 19 '10 at 21:42

@~quack - it was a Ghostbuster's reference. I don't know why you need to bring actual religion into the discussion here. –  tvanfosson Mar 19 '10 at 21:44

@tvanfosson: did you read the quote? i didn't start it. :) –  quack quixote Mar 19 '10 at 21:46

@~quack I meant to say @Gnome. –  Adam Davis Mar 20 '10 at 0:27

You sir, are a hero for being able to stay calm in times like these. I fully expected my eye sockets to be assaulted with massive caps-locked blocks of text expressing the utter terror you were facing bearing witness to the unholy might of the global recalc. –  Tim Stone Feb 27 '12 at 19:42

Updated for the current cause of weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. –  Adam Davis Dec 20 '13 at 16:57

This clearly needs to be reopened as it's a relevant topic –  Pëkka Dec 20 '13 at 16:59

I'd have upvoted this, if it weren't for the distinct lack of freehand circles illustrating the problem at hand. –  Joachim Sauer Dec 20 '13 at 17:01

I love that picture every time I see it. +1000 –  Adam Davis Mar 19 '10 at 22:12

Oh whatever, I'm not afraid. How hard is it to keep closing the numerous "why has my rep changed?!?!?!11oneeleven!!!" questions as dupes and "too localized"? The worst that can happen is that we run out of close votes.

whatever, dude

PS. I love google image search. There's a picture for every occasion! –  Ether Mar 19 '10 at 20:59

That's the absolute worst possible thing that could happen? Are you sure? I think you're just not being creative enough. For example, losing 50 points might cause me to become too depressed to pour the syrup onto my waffles, and then I could die of sugar deprivation. Or I could be too preoccupied to push the "yes" button at work and inadvertently cause a nuclear meltdown that destroys the planet. And that's just off the top of my head. –  mmyers Mar 19 '10 at 21:00

@mmyers: in that case, I'd offer you some meta.stackexchange.com/questions/42898/… –  Ether Mar 19 '10 at 21:11

@mmyers I'm pretty sure that you don't have to type out the entire word yes, you may be able to just press the y key. In which case you can rig up dipping bird to do your job for you. –  Brad Gilbert Apr 18 at 5:23

Locusts. Definitely locusts.

I hear they're crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. –  mmyers Mar 19 '10 at 20:52

@pollyanna: chocolate is where it's at. –  quack quixote Mar 19 '10 at 20:56

It's fine. I've determined you only need 6 degrees to get Bacon. –  Justin Morgan Jan 10 at 17:06
