Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

After posting this question to Stack Overflow the question was raised that the site may not be the vehicle best equipped to handle the intent of the question, which is to build a community-driven "best practices" page for GDB. I cannot imagine a better location other than Stack Overflow for such a question, but wonder if features could be added to the site to make this type of question more user-navigable?

The metaphor of individual "answers" to the question breaks down with this kind of community wiki page, so I'm wondering if some kind of improvements can be made to ease in navigating the answers? Perhaps allowing for an auto-TOC of some kind, or a way to search the answers within a page? What are your thoughts?
