Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Hi all, I really like the idea of Stackoverflow, but I was wondering if anyone knows (maybe the site admins, if they're reading) how many new questions are being asked each day?

Is it around 5,000? 200,000? a million? :) thanks!

A million? I don't think so. – Josh K Apr 15 '10 at 16:14

Nice, I keep forgetting about that! You can see the two dips for Christmas in the questions graph, and according to this we're getting an average of 1,900 questions per day over the whole week. Weekends are slower, and the middle of the week is higher, so the 2,500 value I give seems to match pretty well with the graphs. – Adam Davis Apr 15 '10 at 16:19

About 2,500 questions were asked in the last 24 hours.

When looking at 50 questions per page the questions asked about 24 hours ago are about page 50 of all the newest questions:

The API stats route has an entry that shows how many questions a site gets every minute:

 "questions_per_minute": 3.07,

So, around 4421/day as of this post
