Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

What do you all think about SO adding a dedicated 'search' page with some nice ajax-loading results pane?

Imagine the Google homepage with a nice big search bar which would have a type-ahead drop down with either tags or possibly question results based on the text typed so far.

It could be similar to what happens when you are creating a new question and it loads a 'Related Questions' list using AJAX.

This comes from my desire to have a bigger search bar for the occasions when Google is just churning up junk and I prefer to do an SO-only search, but the search bar @ the top is just too tiny!

What are your thoughts?
