What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 144 Stack Exchange communities.

This is the same concept as the first sandbox.

Why do we need more than one? this is in order to test the API, some methods support vectored ids (for example /questions/id1;id2/comments) and for that two sandbox are needed.

And yes I know about TDD. :)

Please don't close it. Edit test!

API is readonly, you could just use any question to query vectored ids? no? –  YOU May 31 '10 at 8:06

@Shay please make this question community wiki or it will definitely be closed –  Earlz May 31 '10 at 8:07

I want to be able to post comments and answer and check my code against it. I don't want to "pollute" other valid questions –  Shay Erlichmen May 31 '10 at 8:09

The problem with this sandbox is that if everyone is posting to it, then you'll lose the "controlled environment" aspect of a sandbox. –  devinb May 31 '10 at 8:14

@devinb I meant controlled I the sense that I can post comments and answers freely, I don't mine if someone else will post there also. –  Shay Erlichmen May 31 '10 at 8:25

It's not a formatting sandbox then eh? :P Then an API sandbox –  Ólafur Waage May 31 '10 at 8:44

This is a test, for an API, sort-of.

I'd rather commit a quick fraudulent bounty transfer than flood the home page by bumping a bunch of questions with pointless minor suggested edits. I'm trying to give this account 20+ rep so it can test the MSE chat. –  bot Apr 28 '14 at 22:28

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ - Are you talking about the actual post or the comment? :P –  Lix yesterday

WAIT WHAT?? @Lix I DID IT! –  ᔕᖺᘎᕊ yesterday

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ - hehe... yes. There is a special unicode character in there (non printable so you don't see it) that mirrors/flips text. –  Lix yesterday

cool! Thanks :) THAT IS COOL! :) –  ᔕᖺᘎᕊ yesterday

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ There are lots of tools out there to do this kind of thing for you. For example: twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Blog/BlogEntry201211x1 –  Lix yesterday

thanks for the link :) You can see my my username I like fiddling with these kinds of things :P –  ᔕᖺᘎᕊ yesterday

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ In that case you'll probably like this one: marlborotech.com/Zalgo.html If you haven't already seen it around the site :) Specifically this post –  Lix yesterday

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ - zero width characters is how my post here is only "one" character –  Lix yesterday

yeah i've seen that - it took my ages to find out what it was tho! And yeah - I though so :) –  ᔕᖺᘎᕊ yesterday

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ Stack Exchange is pretty tolerant of unicode shenanigans... but just don't abuse the power :P As you can see, comment sections can get pretty unruly. –  Lix yesterday
