Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Do the Stack Exchange sites on Area 51 support Markdown?

If so, what features do they implement?

Is there an example comment which shows some or all of the implementations?

Italics via * works and I think I've also seen bold ** and links

thanks - links did work for me as well (http URIs get auto-linked) but I was wondering how to create a line-break. Haven't tested italics and bold so far, but will do so. – hakre Jun 15 '10 at 15:34
