Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

There's this nice section at the bottom right of the Careers website that is titled Spotlight and features a company. It's very nice, but the problem is, I can't figure out what it's purpose is. It doesn't link to a job posting as far as I can tell. Is it just advertising, or does it have another purpose?

Dude, it's an advertisement for that company! Companies want to attract top talent. The "career" site is one of the ways Joel & Company are going to monetize S.O.
