Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Stack Exchange sites display the text of questions and answers nicely (i.e. with formatting) from their databases. What technologies are used to display the formatted text? I program with C#; can the same results be achieved with that language?

This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers.

What you mean to ask is "Which technologies were used to write" ? – Stefan Thyberg May 19 '09 at 13:58

StackOverflow uses an own version of Markdown. I have started using Markdown.NET for a couple of my own projects.
