Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Am I the only one reduced to a state of nausea by the Intel adverts appearing on SO? Someone should tell them that "Developer Rock Star" is not a term of approbation. Perhaps Jeff & Co could set up a little consultancy on how to appeal to real developers.

Can't we all just unite on the "Case of the Mondays?" ad first??? – Tim Post Jul 29 '10 at 11:38
Get rid of the sexist/entomonist ad first! Down with sexism! Down with entomonism! – JSONBog Jul 29 '10 at 11:44
Back when SO was having serious slowness issues due to the ads, I added to my hosts file and made it point to some arbitrary location. I've never looked back :-P (sorry, Jeff!) – Andy E Jul 29 '10 at 12:48
It could be worse – perbert Jul 29 '10 at 14:18
@perbert It could have been Evony! – Andrew Jul 29 '10 at 18:11

I haven't had that problem in at least two years. That's when I started using the Firefox plugin Adblock plus. Pages load so much faster and spam free.

I too use adblock, but the damn things have started appearing again! I must have changed something without noticing it, I suppose. – nb69307 Jul 29 '10 at 11:51
Upon installation (or through adblock config) you may subscribe to an ever updating list. I use EasyListUSA I think. – Brad Hein Jul 29 '10 at 12:03
yes, I also use Adblock Plus, and it works great, I have yet to see a graphic ad on any of the Trilogy sites - Using sure to update your subscriptions regularly – studiohack Jul 29 '10 at 12:58
