Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I'd like to advertise some of the Area 51 proposals. I've already told some of my friends with similar interests about the site. How should I proceed when 'recruiting' acquaintances? Are there any concise, well-worded examples?

To suggest advertising copy text, I'd need to know which proposal you have in mind. – MatthewMartin Jun 29 '11 at 20:56
@MatthewMartin: In my case it's about the game of Go – mafu Jun 30 '11 at 8:26
There already is a board game stack exchange. I would suggest the best way to promote is to be active on the "go" tag and someday there may be enough going on on that tag that a new site will be created, sort of in the way that Computer Science split off Stack Exchange and TeX split off Math Exchange – MatthewMartin Jun 30 '11 at 16:24
