Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

We started to see SO content duplicated in some sites. Does it affects SO position in Google results?

I'm unsure about the Page Rank, but the search result order is affected as Jeff posted here… – Jader Dias Jan 4 '11 at 2:58

StackOverflow content was scraped and used on other sites well before the monthly data dumps started.

Anyways, does it affect its page rank? – Jader Dias Jul 16 '09 at 13:04
If anything, it probably raises it because the license for the dump requires attribution. – Joel Coehoorn Jul 16 '09 at 13:06
As Joel said it should increase page rank since the content sites have links pointing away from their content and towards SO, but SO doesn't point back. If the links aren't rel="nofollow" page rank would be near zero. – Ian Elliott Jul 16 '09 at 14:21 scraped entire network on SO sites and formatted them for mobile browser. Is this OK?
