Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The other metas (MSF, MSU) have a link to the parent site's profile, why don't we have one here?

MSO is a different Meta site. It's Meta Central for the whole system, and specifically Meta for SO. It was the first Meta, and has always required it's own profile.

I would be nice if there was a link to the main profile (even if we had to add it ourselves) – NullUserException อ_อ Aug 19 '10 at 0:55

@NullUserException - An account of meta doesn't require you have an account on SO :) Also even if you do, it may not be associated, have the same username, etc...you're actually a different user here – Nick Craver Aug 19 '10 at 1:09

But isn't it possible to link the information, so you don't have to repeat it on your profile page? – user3305035 Feb 13 '14 at 9:05

@user3305035, yes, you can have one profile that works across all the Stack Exchange sites. Click on the network profile link in your profile here. – Lance Roberts Feb 13 '14 at 14:01
