Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When you have a larger chat message in, the link "see full text" appears. Sometimes it appears when the text is large, but you already see the whole text. Sometimes there's indeed more text.

Whatever's the case, when you click it, more text is displayed, but the linebreaks are removed that were visible in the normal view. These are the linebreaks that can be inserted with Shift-Enter.

A direct link to the source of one such messages is a recent one by me in the XSLT chat room, here's its source and here the permalink.

Answering this so it can be closed.

Apparently, this has now been fixed (that was quick!). Thanks, Jon, for informing me subtly :)
