What’s going on with stack exchange? Does anyone know? When you build up a website using stack exchange can you sell it to another person as if it was your own web site or is stack exchange the owner of the site? I ask because I don’t know much about stack exchange and I can’t find anything on the subject on the stack exchange blog

Read the SE-2.0 announcement. SE sites will be owned by the community, so you can't sell it:

So we’re making a few changes. Briefly:

1. Stack Exchange will now be free.
2. We’re changing the way that new Stack Exchange sites are created to move to a more democratic, community process.
3. The content of these new, community-created Stack Exchange sites will be publicly owned under a Creative Commons license, instead of being owned by individuals or businesses.
