Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

In the WMD editor, I recently discovered:

  • CTRL-L (link)
  • CTRL-G (graphic)
  • CTRL-B (bold)
  • CTRL-I (italic)

What are some other useful hotkeys or tips on using WMD more efficiently?

You know that all buttons have tooltips that also tell the hotkey? – Joey Jul 16 '09 at 23:44

yes that's how I found the above, and just noticed the question mark that goes to this page: meta.stackoverflow.com/editing-help (is there any formatting possible in comments?) – Edward Tanguay Jul 17 '09 at 5:42

I think there is a way to highlight things in a comment. – Brad Gilbert Jul 31 '09 at 3:14

Let me try that, did it work? – Edward Tanguay Jul 31 '09 at 20:15

Let me try that again. – Edward Tanguay Jul 31 '09 at 20:19

FYI, there is a formatting sandbox "question." – Pops Jun 27 '11 at 15:44

The hotkey is visible on hover. They should be added to the editing-help page.

Here they are (in order as in the bar):
