What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 150 Stack Exchange communities.

I want to search for:

  • unanswered questions
  • only in my tags
  • sorted by newest first

I'd have guessed this was very common—if not the default. However I can't figure it out. Closest I can find on meta is this, which doesn't have a definitive answer.

Duplicate of the one you linked (whats the difference to your question?) and meta.stackexchange.com/questions/11563/… – Georg Fritzsche Sep 15 '10 at 20:36
possible duplicate of sorting unanswered 'my tag' questions newest first – Jon Seigel Sep 15 '10 at 21:46
@Sfinnie, make sure and upvote the feature-request you linked to let them know that you want it implemented. – Lance Roberts Sep 15 '10 at 22:18
thx all. Have upvoted feature request. Don't understand why Jeff's resisting - but hey, it's his site :-) – sfinnie Sep 16 '10 at 8:50
I updated my answer to show unanswered, sorry for missing that. – Lance Roberts Sep 17 '10 at 8:41
@Lance: thanks. – sfinnie Sep 17 '10 at 11:33
When you say "only in my tags," you mean not specific tags, but all your tags, right? – Kazark Mar 15 '13 at 17:20

Here's the search I use, just replace the bold with your tags,it works fine for a few tags:

I don't see unanswered in there... – Tobias Kienzler Sep 16 '10 at 8:22
thx. I'll use that for now until I can figure the 'unanswered' bit too. – sfinnie Sep 16 '10 at 8:51
@sfinnie: See the search tips for a bit more. – Georg Fritzsche Sep 16 '10 at 9:22
@Georg: thx - will take a look there too. – sfinnie Sep 16 '10 at 16:03
@Tobias, fixed. – Lance Roberts Sep 17 '10 at 8:41

The intags:mine operator returns only posts that appear in tags you have marked as favorite.

Applying this to @LanceRoberts answer:

But neither this, nor his suggested method, support sorting by date asked ☹

Edit: Martin Smith provided this search, which will sort chronologically:

Thanks all!

Edit: Another improvement: skip closed (and on hold) posts

Click on the "newest" tab to get descending date order. URL: http://stackoverflow.com/search?tab=newest&q=intags%3amine%20answers%3a0 – Martin Smith Dec 21 '13 at 18:06
