Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

From time to time I see a question like this (screenschot). Because I am hopelessly cynical, I'm tempted to wonder if the OP is just artlessly flogging the linked site. However, they could just be trying to get something for nothing. Anyone else got some thoughts on how to decide?

Spam for sure, given the earlier answers in the user's profile.

Agreed, this is spam. I don't mind answers that promote your own site when it directly answers the original question, but I hate this kind of astroturfing. – Bill the Lizard Sep 26 '10 at 12:39
