Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When in a chatroom, the all rooms button opens in a new tab. This is annoying, as I can always open a link in a new tab but opening one it the same one is harder. Would it be possible to change this?

I've never understood why browsers offer "Open link in new tab" but not "Open link in current tab" – Michael Mrozek Sep 27 '10 at 19:34

I'd rather it be something like a modal dialog rather than a new tab. I wouldn't want it to replace the chat window though. Just something that enables easy viewing of all available rooms to switch to, ala other rooms you're in fashion. – Rebecca Chernoff Sep 27 '10 at 19:39
