Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Do you think it's neccesary to create an faq for stackoverflow for instance that answers frequently asked questions about programming?
I think it would be very useful to do such a thing in order to avoid duplicated answers and to pre answer those kind of questions.

What do you guys think?

This is kinda sorta already being done. I think polygenelubricants is in charge. See the question asking for permission to create FAQs, a recent one about a C++ FAQ on SO and this one about etiquette. – Pops Nov 18 '10 at 18:01
I am asking because this question… is considered too vague. I consider this a very useful question and an answer that says "just don't do it" is not good enough. I really want to learn how it's done. – the_drow Nov 19 '10 at 1:20
