As of August 2011, it now lives under http://code.google.com/p/pagedown/. This version is identical to the version running on the Stack Exchange sites, except for a few Stack Exchange-specific additions (e.g spoilers) that are not included.

It is a completely refactored version; the old one at http://code.google.com/p/wmd-new/ is no longer maintained.

Jeff, is that project dead or is it still alive? The github version has a few bugs, and the Google code site appears to be inactive. Are there any plans to continue this? Also, is the version SO using open source and available to the public? (I'm assuming it's different than the Google code / gitHub versions since the bugs have been fixed) –  Mohamad Jan 4 '11 at 3:26

@mel it is alive, there will be more activity on it soon. Just working through a backlog. –  Jeff Atwood Jan 4 '11 at 4:26

I have scowered that google code page and can't for the life of me find the github link. Where might we be able to find it? –  Chase Florell Jun 27 '11 at 22:29

@rock the google code link is correct and contains the latest code. We tend to use Google Code for consistency, never Github. –  Jeff Atwood Jun 27 '11 at 23:24

I found it after posting. For some reason I neglected to click on the "browse" button, and just stayed on the checkout button. Thanks Jeff –  Chase Florell Jun 27 '11 at 23:33

Are the StackExchange pagedown/wmd help interfaces available anywhere? i.e. the tabular help content and bouncing of the icons, would make for a good plugin if not wrapped into core. –  Steve Apr 9 '12 at 20:59

there is nothing to download in first link, so would you provide new source –  NullPoiиteя Jun 21 '12 at 10:50

@mayank try code.google.com/p/pagedown/source/browse –  Jeff Atwood Jun 21 '12 at 11:15
