Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I frequently look for featured questions, to look for something new to learn I may not be aware of.

I tried looking for "Famous Questions" via the Badges page at That page shows a list of badges, and clicking on a badge shows the users who have that badge, which makes sense for most badges.

But for some badges like "Famous Question", it would be useful if I could see (in this case), the list of Famous Questions.

I searched SO, but no luck so far. Is there such a list somewhere on SO ?

Actually, I know it does, but I'm still new to this site, and meta didn't let me use my id ? – user131708 Jul 20 '09 at 3:43
You have to create a new user on Meta (you can use the same open-id) and then associate the accounts. – DeadHead Jul 20 '09 at 3:46
Perhaps this should've been deleted instead of migrated. It appears the question was already asked here (meta) before it was migrated:… This one is now an exact duplicate. – AgentConundrum Jul 20 '09 at 4:00
This question was originally not on meta. When it was migrated, it was downvoted once. But how can that be - the question itself is pretty clear and i'm sure useful as well? – user131708 Jul 20 '09 at 4:01
@agentconumdrum - i posted the question here after i created a a/c in meta as per DeadHead.. – user131708 Jul 20 '09 at 4:02

Here's a solution I made for a previous asker,

  1. Questions with highest rated answers
  2. Questions with highest rated answers that aren't WIKI's
  3. Highest rated Questions

The only downside is you have to append the ID manually to the end of

Thank you, that helps. But I was really looking to find out if SO had a "proper" page for "Famous Questions" – user131708 Jul 20 '09 at 4:12
There's this,, but most of the questions are more conversation pieces than wonderful questions. – Ian Elliott Jul 20 '09 at 4:30
ok :( ... thanks a lot! – user131708 Jul 20 '09 at 6:30
This probably needs to be updated with links to data explorer queries... – Adam Davis Feb 5 '12 at 3:12

This search provides a list of all questions on Stack Overflow for which a Famous Question badge was awarded.
