Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Aren't the tags and referring to the same topic? It's somewhat hard to tell since both have no description. However, only has ~40 questions, which mostly are also tagged with .

Isn't there a general rule for creating/merging tags to avoid such duplicates?

There is a suggested synonym for the fbml tag – codingbadger Jan 18 '11 at 12:48
@Barry: Well, a synonym is another name for something. However, SO treats them as entirely different tags. In other words, looking for either tag should return the same number of questions IMHO. – sjngm Jan 19 '11 at 14:39
