Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When I go to check my messages on Stack Overflow Careers I get a 404 page rather than an empty inbox.

I can't reproduce it. Mine shows up just fine. – Adam Davis Feb 23 '11 at 19:34
@Pollyana, do you actually have a CV? – Brandon Feb 23 '11 at 19:39
what do you see when you go to "my profile" -- are you an active candidate (can edit your profile) or a passive (cannot edit)? – David Fullerton Feb 23 '11 at 23:13
@David, I see the request a profile page. (How do I get one/Request immediate invite). So if I don't have either, I'm guessing I shouldn't even be able to see the messages link? – Brandon Feb 23 '11 at 23:15
yep, something has gone horribly wrong :) – David Fullerton Feb 23 '11 at 23:35

We were sometimes showing the "messages" link for users who do not have a profile yet, and so can't have any messages. This has been fixed.
