Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

A while ago I tried to login to stack overflow, but I couldn't remember what email address I used when I registered. Now I've figured it out but the email address is dead, the domain no longer exists. Would it be possible to merge the accounts http://stackoverflow.com/users/22395/terence-simpson and http://stackoverflow.com/users/514830/terence-simpson ?

It's a registered account. Can you not log in to your OpenID provider? – mmyers Feb 26 '11 at 17:56

@mmyers No, there is no OpenID associated with it – Terence Simpson Feb 26 '11 at 18:05

Email your account information along with the old email address to team@stackoverflow.com so they can process your request.

I get an error when I try to change it: "Email is already registered" – Terence Simpson Feb 26 '11 at 17:42

@Terence: Shoot, then my lame attempt at a joke was wasted. I'm afraid you'll have to email your account information along with the old email address to team@stackoverflow.com so they can process your request. Sorry. – Bill the Lizard Feb 26 '11 at 17:54

Thanks, I sent an email as you suggested and now the accounts are merged. – Terence Simpson Feb 27 '11 at 7:37
