Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

We know that Stack Overflow has a suggested edit queue, visible to the users who have 10000+ rep. Someone said the queue have a fixed size.

What's the fixed size of the suggested edit queue?

Is it often that the queue gets filled up and users can no longer suggest edits?

Where did that strange question mark in the title come from? – Gabe Mar 23 '11 at 7:09
@Gabe: Unicode. – kennytm Mar 23 '11 at 7:17
So how did a non-ASCII question mark end up in the title? None of the others on the page are u+FF1F. – Gabe Mar 23 '11 at 7:19

[Description("How many edits can be in the queue, prior to disabling it"), DefaultValue(20)]
public int MaxInQueue { get; private set; }

We set it to 30 on Stack Overflow, however I never saw it reach anything beyond 8 on any of our sites.

Please set the moderator queue to a fixed size of 30. ;) – Bill the Lizard Mar 23 '11 at 13:04
@Bill sure not probs, :) – waffles Mar 23 '11 at 21:07
I've seen it at ~25 on Unix.SE once, when a user wrote a bunch of tag wikis. (Second biggest it's ever been is probably like 4.) – Gilles Mar 24 '11 at 22:27
Out of sheer curiosity, has this changed since this was posted? – cdeszaq Mar 23 '12 at 15:35
@cdeszaq It has. Edit queue on SO is now 200. And often full or near-full. – Daniel Fischer Jul 10 '12 at 14:58
