Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 143 Stack Exchange communities.

Edit: Should be closed as duplicate of - A question regarding the use of "doubt" to mean "question".. Though that is on another SE site...

What language/culture commonly translates confusion, misunderstanding, or question into the word "doubt"? I see this quite often on SO.

I don't know, maybe this is on-topic at english.SE –  Tobias Kienzler Mar 23 '11 at 9:39

@Tobias: Oh, and it's already a dupe on that site. Thanks for the info :) Vote to close? –  Merlyn Morgan-Graham Mar 23 '11 at 9:45
Indeed it is on-topic at english.SE ("Indeed" was a link to english.stackexchange.com/questions/2429/… ) –  Blorgbeard Mar 23 '11 at 9:46
@Blorg: Oh, missed that it was a link. Thank you as well –  Merlyn Morgan-Graham Mar 23 '11 at 9:51
@Merlyn I guess so. Too bad we can't close cross-site dupes... But you can manually edit in a closed as duplicate of... link of course –  Tobias Kienzler Mar 23 '11 at 9:52
