Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

For one of my questions, the chat onebox is out of sync.

Uhm what now? The onebox you link to was posted at 5:40 am, the upvote is from 5:44. – balpha Mar 24 '11 at 16:10
Oh, I though it should update. Once pasted it will remain static? this is by design? – Trufa Mar 24 '11 at 16:14
Of course -- what if the question is later edited, deleted, etc? It's shown the way it was when you posted it. Because that's how it was when the conversation around it happened. – balpha Mar 24 '11 at 16:15
@balpha: Ok, had not though about that! But I agree it makes sense! If you want to post this as answer I will accept it. Thank you very much!! – Trufa Mar 24 '11 at 16:17
Every onebox should ping the servers every second to ensure the vote counts, close status, etc is correct. Because burning bandwidth for stuff that doesn't matter is awesome. – Won't Mar 24 '11 at 16:35
@Will: ahhh... nothing like sarcasm at lunch. – Trufa Mar 24 '11 at 17:00
@Trufa: Glad you appreciated it! – Won't Mar 24 '11 at 17:36
