Someone else asked this question but it was closed without a resolution, not sure why. Original question is here. How to Change or Add a Gravatar?

I go to gravatar site, log in, select "add an image", select "from hard drive", select a photo and it takes me to the crop page. However, on the crop page there are no tools to crop, and no button to finish uploading the image. The button is on the page, but it's style is set to display:none. I can see it using ie developer toolbar, the containing table id is "cropcompass". I used ie developer toolbar to set the style property to inline and then clicked it. This appears to work, somewhat. It uploads a black picture (just a square a of solid black). I've tried this in IE 7 & 8, and Firefox 3 and 4.0, but it's always the same problem. FAQ and common questions on the gravatar site do not appear to be implemented, they all link to #. So, what am I missing here?

Gravatar is a third-party service, and questions here should be about the Stack Overflow family sites, not about the third-party services. Maybe gravatar.com/site/faq can help? –  Arjan Mar 31 '11 at 17:40
Thanks for the feedback. The duplicate question doesn't cover anything that the question I referenced does, so that's what made me wonder. Gravatar faq is hosed too, none of the links are working. All of them go to en.gravatar.com/site/faq/#. Do other people have problems with this site? –  tessa Mar 31 '11 at 21:04
Turn on JavaScript / turn off NoScript to view their FAQ. –  Jon Seigel Apr 1 '11 at 1:58
