What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 133 Stack Exchange communities.

If I go to a 404 page on one of the StackExchange sites:

...and I click on 'Contact Us', my email program launches with the following address:

team%2bXXX%40stackexchange.com

...where 'XXX' is the name of the site. I doubt that the email address is supposed to have escaped characters in it.

Note: this doesn't happen in FF4 - only in Chrome. –  uɐɯsO uɐɥʇɐN Apr 9 '11 at 23:47

It also works correctly in Safari 5.0.4 –  ughoavgfhw Apr 10 '11 at 0:08

I can't think of a good reason to encode those characters, but then again, I can't think of a good reason not to decode them either. Double-bad FTL! –  Shog9 Apr 10 '11 at 0:09

Works fine on Chrome 12.0.725.0 dev. –  Mike Apr 10 '11 at 0:31

I have Chrome 11.0.696.34 beta. –  uɐɯsO uɐɥʇɐN Apr 10 '11 at 0:47

I see nothing wrong in my Chrome 10. –  John Apr 10 '11 at 2:34

@John: What OS are you using? –  uɐɯsO uɐɥʇɐN Apr 10 '11 at 3:05

Yes, there's no reason for those characters to be encoded. Fixing!

Wow... I noticed this when I sent my (first!) email to the team a couple days ago, but I thought it was by design... –  Mehrdad Apr 10 '11 at 6:08
