No story? Since you leaving and you do not care about your rep or good standing perhaps you would like to leave with more information. From their standpoint this is better than sliced bread. I think you should try convince people that the site is unrespectful. It would make more of a statement. –  nate c Apr 19 '11 at 2:35

For the record, the unrespectfulness seems to have been that the OP got a question closed, after getting 64 answered. –  Pëkka Apr 19 '11 at 6:55

Maybe he is fed up with the horrible trietment this policy give us. Some have real standards. –  user190086 Jul 7 '12 at 1:11

@Seva It's not like they're paid per user... –  Anna Lear Apr 19 '11 at 2:30

I know, but the value of the site is increased. Just like facebook. –  Seva Apr 19 '11 at 2:31

Seva: It's not personal simple as that-each question posted on those sites-and my opinion is there is a huge increase in laziness in posting-there's no info, subjective questions posted etc... hell,some are even one time users,by their id of 'userxxxxx', we don't need to have flamewars, or countless discussions as they have been discussed already etc. People who post answers are not even paid to do this-this is entirely voluntary. And some OPs don't even bother to research themselves via the search button, google... sigh or even elaborate how/what/where central to the OP question. + –  t0mm13b Apr 19 '11 at 2:53

Furthermore, some use text speak, or leave out vital information in the OP's question, or even the question is not clear, much rather like a guessing game for those who are trying their best to answer their questions... –  t0mm13b Apr 19 '11 at 2:55

Obligatory comment which informs you about the status of "Suggestions to use a searchmachine" on SE. And yes, there's at the moment a little talk about that going on... –  Time Traveling Bobby Apr 19 '11 at 6:47

Noooooooooooooo! Don't leeeaaaave! Whatever shaall we do!!

This seems a little hasty to want to delete your account simply because you can't suggest edits. Why not try the other route and build up your reputation so that you can actually make real edits?

Also, do you delete every single account you have on the Internet that you don't use? This seems more like a ploy for attention rather than a sincere attempt to stop using the site.

He pasted exact same contents on Why do I get more votes for simple answers?, also Why can't I suggest edits on SE meta sites?. I think he just want to get some attention to this post. Deleting account because he can't suggest edits does not look like the real reason for me though. –  YOU Apr 19 '11 at 6:47

@YOU - He/She's just another time-sucker. We should ask ourselves why we even bother answering questions like this... –  jmort253 Apr 19 '11 at 6:52

@jmort253, you're definitely correct. –  YOU Apr 19 '11 at 6:53

Have we become some kind of cult that tries to shame people out of leaving? You're free to leave any time you want, but how about you come stand up in front of everyone and tell us why you don't like us?. Yikes! Just let the guy leave in peace! –  user27414 Apr 19 '11 at 16:54

@status - You're right :) And people like us are exactly why I've just learned to just leave quietly. I've learned there's no point because of all the hecklers :) –  jmort253 Apr 20 '11 at 2:56

@Seva - Glad you're still here! I hope you have a good sense of humor. :) My suggestion: Just wait it out. Things change around here all the time. What you don't like just might go away on its own. –  jmort253 Apr 20 '11 at 2:58
